Connection Verified, an independent label founded in 2015 by ADMINISTRATOR, after 50 releases (some under the former label name Controlled Violence) and 8 years of operation, will cease operations effective immediately.

As a collective, and in working with artists the world over across a huge spectrum of mediums - 7 vinyls, a CD, a DVD, an SD card, posters, booklets, international events, virtual galleries, tours, and more, we have made a respectable impact on the electronic music community. Regardless, the time has come to stop operating in its current form. It is only fitting that our ADMIN puts this chapter to bed with a 6 track EP: finalfiles.

As the volume of music (and content) in the world swells to bursting point, more and more, it has become harder to cut through to audiences that are willing to listen. Truth be told, we have lost a lot of faith in the industry's ability to recognise and celebrate authenticity; a value at the heart of our label.

A lot of vital ideas, processes, and mindsets have been lost in the hyperactivity of a globalised, neoliberal world that prioritises competitiveness over companionship, style over substance, attention spans over art, and the fastest route to fame over a core belief in the fundamental worth of creation.

It seems that dedicating one's life to art, and honing craft to the point of uniqueness, beauty, and importance, is no longer enough to satiate crowds, and that is a damn shame. Instead, art must be coupled with money, data, an offering of some kind, the loudest voice, the biggest ad spend, the most disingenuous communications, the most expensive, most outrageous, most edgy product, or else it just falls flat. It is for these reasons that we feel the need to reinvent ourselves; above all to remedy the problems we see in the world.

Far from rolling over and exiting the game, however, the label's team will pursue new horizons and opportunities, some of which we will be able to show you shortly.

Bandcamp will stay online as an archive of our CVR releases (all albums that were released under Controlled Violence are now free as well), however all other accounts will be collapsed into the new brand that we are working on.
